20th International Congress on Oral Pathology & Oral Medicine
Joint Meeting of the IAOP and BSOMP 2020
with the Scandinavian Fellowship of Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine
As Presidents of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists (IAOP) and of the British Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology (BSOMP), we are delighted to invite you to attend the 20th International Congress of Oral Pathology and Medicine, which is being organised jointly by our two societies and also being held in conjunction with the Scandinavian Society of Oral Pathology and Medicine.
The meeting will be held from the 17-20th June 2020 at the Institute for Engineering and Technology, a superb riverside venue in the heart of London. This historic building has superb conference facilities and is ideal for the important networking and social interaction that are critical for a successful meeting.
As always there will be scientific presentations, plenary lectures and posters. This Congress will develop the normal programme structure, but you will notice several novel changes to the usual meeting programme. To enable everyone to have an opportunity to showcase their research, we will be able to accept more posters in electronic format and make them available to all delegates throughout the meeting.
We are delighted to announce well-known, world-leading speakers from many countries, who will contribute to sessions on sinonasal pathology, oral and laryngeal precursor lesions, cancer immunology and immunotherapy, digital pathology and artificial intelligence in diagnosis in addition to presentations on salivary gland tumours and a debate on odontogenic tumours. We hope also to hear about your research and interesting case reports.
Our colleagues from the Scandinavian Society for Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine (SFOPOM) will be involved in organising the clinico-pathological conference. Both they and the IAOP have named prize lectures, the Pindborg Lecture and the IAOP President’s Lecture. As yet the winners and lecture topics are unknown, but both always provide educational talks of the highest standard.
We both have lifelong friends and collaborators from around the world who we first met at IAOP conferences. We are delighted to invite you to join us and hope you will be able to come and take advantage of this very special meeting, meet old friends and make new ones. London is a wonderful city and we encourage you to take some extra time to take advantage of the city, its museums, galleries, theatres, bars and nightlife.
We look forward to seeing you and welcoming you to the meeting, and to London.
EW Odell (President IAOP)
AW Barrett (President BSOMP)
